Microneedling uses a gently oscillating pen device and gas-sterilized, one-time use needles arranged in various numbers according to the area on the body. It is a technique used to address the overall health of the skin, age spots, scars, skin tone, and wrinkles by affecting karotinocytes in the stem cell layer. It increases topical absorption by 97%. Hyaluronic acid is used during microneedling as it is a naturally occurring sugar molecule that draws water (100x its weight in water) to the skin. It plumps wrinkles and breaks down slowly, and won't trigger breakouts. It is recommended to have 1 month between treatments, and to wait one month after any chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments.
